Start with each person
A shared travel plan does not necessarily mean a shared immigration application. Record each person’s passport nationality, age, relationship, intended activities and current immigration status.
Connect the right permissions
Review the family reunification entry visa where a visa is required. For ongoing stay, check the sponsor and eligibility conditions of a dependent permit or the family provisions of your residence route.
Plan school enrollment early
Admission to a school and permission to study are separate. Check the student permit, its timing and supporting records before the academic year begins. Some approved programs have specific waivers; verify that they apply to your family.
Coordinate documents and timing
Identify civil-status records, parental permissions and translations that may be needed. Do not assume that all partners, adult children or older relatives qualify as dependents. Raise the family structure early so the right questions can be reviewed.
